Google Ad Manager – Capturing the Market?

Posted on 04. Oct, 2008 by Julius.

Over the last few weeks I’ve been looking at different ad management programs. One of them was Google Ad Manager. This is Google’s approach to try to capture the ad management market.

Google Ad Manager is a hosted ad management solution that can help you sell, schedule, deliver, and measure all of your directly-sold and network-based inventory.

It offers a lot of features which suite the needs of companies.
Some of its features are:

  • Inventory management
  • Trafficking, ad delivery, and order booking
  • Yield optimization
  • Reporting

I have used it for a while and I think it is a good management system but it is not going to capture the market. It has a lot of potential but it is only valuable to companies, not to bloggers. Google Ad Manager was built with a whole sales team in mind and that’s part of the reason why it doesn’t make sense to use it as a blogger.
