Today I want to introduce the Keys to Successful Blogging series. In it I am trying to give people an idea of what I think you need to become a successful blogger. This is the first part of the series and it is about persistence, about following through.
Why is Persistence Important?
Persistence is one of the essentials you need, to be able to blog. At the beginning when starting up a blog times are rough. You hardly get any visitors and almost no attention. You write and write articles but no one seems to be interested in them anyway. Then it is important to follow through and just keep on posting articles.
The problem with starting a blog is of course that you usually do not know a lot of other bloggers that could help you or give advice to you. Another problem is that your web site is new and has almost no content yet. Because of this lack your web site will receive almost no traffic from search engines. The next problem that comes to mind is that nobody knows of your blog. At these times you really just need to be persistent and think that by doing so, everything will slowly get better.
And it does. More and more people start to visit your blog and leave comments. You think that you have now made it only to be fooled again. Times become rough again and you need to force yourself to keep on writing.
This story was just to prove to you that persistence is essential in blogging. Nobody that has not blogged for a while knows how hard it really is. I do not want to discourage you if you know that you are not very persistent. Just try it and you will see.
