Where to Submit Your Blog to on Dmoz

Dmoz is the most important web directory on the Internet. Of course it is no surprise that a lot of people try to get listed on it.

But because it is so popular, it is hard to get listed and it usually takes a long time.

There are a lot of things you can do to increase your chance of getting listed. In this article though I am only going to talk about one of these factors, choosing the right category.

Because submitting your web site to the right directory is so essential, I thought of giving you some help as to where you should add your blog.

As I submitted my blog to dmoz I didn’t find it easy to find the right category. To make this easier for you I created a list with the most important dmoz categories for blogs:

• Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Promotion/Weblogs/
• Computers/News_and_Media/Weblogs/
• Computers/Internet/On_the_Web/Weblogs/Resources/
• Computers/Internet/On_the_Web/Weblogs/FAQs,_Help_and_Tutorials/

I am not saying that you have to add your blog to one of these categories, it is just suppose to help you in figuring out the right category. Also I think it is important that you look around on the different sites and see what kind of web sites are listed there and whether yours would fit into one of these.

I added my blog to the Web Design/Promotion category as there were lots of others Internet marketing blogs listed there.
