Justin I totally agree. I am actually glad that you have mentioned it because up to this point the location was hard to translate for me into the blogging world.

Re: location, think of it like a neighborhood, which is a mix of people, amenities and appearances. You can control how your blog looks, and you can control the amenities it offers -- including the knowledge you present, the widgets you employ, the conversations you foster and the ads you run -- but you can't actively control who moves in or out.

In the actual world, you want a neighborhood where everyone is responsible, shares information, maintains appearances and doesn't create unnecessary problems, which ensures that happy residents will stay put rather than moving elsewhere.

Therefore, in the blog world, you need to court the kinds of "neighbors" (AKA fellow bloggers and your regular visitors and commenters) who create a healthy, happy and sustainable community unto themselves. Because when everybody's happy to be a part of your blog home, you'll be welcome in increasingly more desirable neighborhoods.

But how does that apply to blogs? How could you relate that to blogging itself?

Actually, I'm handling my blog like real estate. Every waking day, I do my best to put much time to invest on my blog. And all my efforts is paying off. :-)
